KYMC’s Ultraflex CI press has a UV-LED stations to provide high quality printing with high opacity. SInce UV-LED ink application does not emit VOCs, the Ultraflex press is regarded as a high eco friendly solution for your client demands.
The Ultraflex-H configuration enables you to take advantage of the UV-LED application with the option to add solvent or water-based print stations when needed for a job. The Ultraflex-H option has a hybrid configuration that integrates 3 technologies:

UV/LED
The standard Ultraflex press is a full UV-LED press while the Ultraflex-H offers options for solvent and interchangeable drying units. This press is for printers looking for a full UV-LED application with high print quality and low waste. The Ultraflex-H press is a hybrid for printers looking for maximum flexibility. Through Ultrafex-H printers can take on the widest range of product line while not sacrificing the benefit of print quality and eco friendliness.
How flexible packaging materials are printed is an area that needs close scrutiny for the reduction of VOC solvent emissions, lower energy costs and the “Circular Economy” in packaging. The versatility of today’s servo driven flexo press with sophisticated tension controls opens the way to a new approach to short run package printing. Improved UV/LED inks are coming on stream every day to meet the demand to eliminate solvent inks and at the same time produce extremely high quality flexo printing. The ability to use extended gamut colors becomes easier because of the stability of the ink on press throughout the run and consistency from one run to another. Reduction of spot colors and color matching can also lead to a reduction in setup waste. A reduced environmental footprint using food packaging compliant UV/LED inks is possible if converters can overcome the fears associated with curing inks.

Application
UV-LED application has its advantage when it comes to temperature sensitive substrates such as PET-shrink films. The characteristic of a UV-LED print is high opacity with protruding effect and has good resistance properties.
